I used to work in a technical field. Went for various reasons, I have a degree in fine arts. Now I have to earn money before, how can I view this positively to a potential employer?

The best way to handle the letter describing both open, as you prepare your experience and training for work that is being implemented. In other words, do not want to sound as if they declare a "gap". Education does not only increase their repertoire of skills for employment and must be discussed that way.
The same goes for your resume. This education gap "is actually a qualification. So I just put on your resume in the correct order, achieve your work history and describe the degree courses and awards as described, their professional experience.
I always recommend a section of the "achievements" or "skills and qualifications" and, if possible, that in the first place. In this section, you can use a list of your skillsIn relation to the criteria of the job.

You say you left work and took six years, is a course in Fine Arts completed?
to be honest and say that you have taken the time to self-improvement through education. and the list of what education, you have everything incledu and all that for the work you do apply.

Ananke right answer. Usually, differences are permitted if the school back to continue their education or acquire new skills in their current range. Many people have gaps in their CV in those days. While you fill your time doing something productive that would be acceptable.
